On the eve year of St. Columba’s Golden Jubilee, we thank God for giving us 49 years of contributing to the building of the lives of young people. Through training of hands, educating of minds and forming of hearts, we have been actively involved in the mission of transforming lives.
Through this training, the ripple effect is being manifested, as many graduates from St. Columba’s are making a difference in their own lives and those of their families. They are breaking the vicious cycle of poverty and sense of despondency hence giving a ray of hope during these difficult economic times. Over the past 49 years, the college has grown and adapted to the changing economic and social environment.
St. Columba’s offer courses in Fashion Design; Garment Making Technology, Food Processing Technology, Food; Beverage Production, Sales; Service and Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, examined by KNEC from Artisan to Diploma level. The training prepares the young people for life and employment in the 21 st Century. The College aims to provide a holistic education using a pastoral caring approach. We emphasize on imparting values like Commitment, Dignity, Teamwork, Responsibility, Professionalism, Courtesy, Respect (for God, Self, Others; Environment) Tolerance, Integrity/honesty and Justice. Community service engagement (CSE) reaches out to people who are needy in the society. In this way we inculcate in the students the culture of hospitality and good citizenship where working for common good is encouraged.
Lastly, we are happy to say that, it gives us great joy to see our Alumni, ‘living life to the fullest in justice, freedom, security, peace and happiness’ just as in our Vision Statement.
